Butler Family

I was a bit more nervous than usual before this session, because I got to shoot a fellow photographer and her family who were visiting from Utah. I met Carrie at the workshop I attended in May, and we hit it off instantly. I have been fortunate enough to stay in touch with many of the wonderful women that I met that weekend, and Carrie is one of them. Check out her blog here!!

Since the tide was so high that morning I suggested La Jolla Shores Beach. Carrie's family is exactly as I imagined they'd be; warm, happy, attractive and extremely friendly. Her girls are high energy, and I had so much fun watching Paige get very wet & sandy (sorry Carrie!) during our time there. I was laughing at one point because while I have sang many songs during a shoot to get kids to look my way ("The Wheels on the Bus", "If You're Happy and You Know It", etc), this is the first time I got to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" (baby Mia's favorite).
