8.20.10 Playgroup Picture Party

I met up with Nicole and her playgroup at Old Poway Park a few weeks ago. While I have photographed Nicole and her family quite a few times, this is the first time I met her playgroup. Such an adorable, camera loving, group of kiddos!!




After I was done taking photos of all of the kids, I grabbed a couple shots of the older girls in their playgroup together, and just LOVE the photo above. I'm not sure why, but I can just imagine these little girls in their cheerleader uniforms running around the school together!!! So darn adorable!

I met up with Angie and her newly formed playgroup in Old Poway last week. I had a BLAST photographing these adorable kiddos. I can usually capture quite a few great images in 5 minutes, but man, I had so many of each kid that it was hard to narrow down my faves!!

I had my first picture party of the season last week with one of my favorite playgroups. It was so great to see how much the kids had grown, and also to meet the newest playgroup additions :) Below are some images from a few of the kiddos I had the pleasure of photographing.

Ms. Michelle's Infant Class

I purposefully don't book any picture parties after August 31st because that's when my busy season picks up, but I couldn't say no when Belle's old Mommy & Me teacher came-a-callin'. Isabelle & I spent two years in Ms. Michelle's infant & toddler classes... learning new things, singing songs, dancing, bonding and having fun.

I met her and her infants' class down on Coronado Island last week for some picture taking fun! What CUTIE PIES!!! All of the kids were between 4 and 13 months, and most of them were learning how to sit up on their own or just started crawling. Below are a few of my favorites from the day, though I could have posted countless more. Enjoy!!

8.29.08 Picture Party

A few weeks ago I shot my last picture party of the Summer at Glen Park in Cardiff by the Sea. It was a great way to end the season with a wonderful group of kids at a beautiful location. This park was a block from the beach, but felt more like Balboa Park with it's huge trees and lush grass. I highly recommend this park if you find yourself in coastal North County, especially if you have your camera!

I have immensely enjoyed taking pictures of so many kiddos the last two months. They are my very favorite subject and I feel at ease with them. Capturing their expressions & reactions is what I strive to do, and it's extremely rewarding when they feel comfortable enough with me to be themselves.

Thank you to all the playgroup captains who took the time to organize a picture party with me, and than you to all of the Moms who let me "play" with your kids! Till next Summer...

8.27.08 Picture Party

For this picture party I went back to Crown Point to take photos of more adorable kiddos. I think this was the first picture party I've done where almost all of the kids were boys, so it was very high energy and go go go! Enjoy!!

I am SO in love with this picture! It makes me giggle everytime I look at it...

8.22.08 Picture Party

The captain of this playgroup picked out the park for their picture party, promising me plenty of shade and some lovely backdrops. Wow was she right! I loved this park, and the kids were so much fun too. Check out some of the sibling pictures. They're amazing, and as I was going back through them, they moved me so much! Most of the older kids just took the lead and I was lucky enough to be there to capture it.
